The coming week, which corresponds to the end of autumn and the beginning of meteorological winter, Friday December 1st, promises to be cold, without excess either, humid, sometimes snowy and windy.

A vast low pressure system extending from Scandinavia to Europe via France and supplied with polar air will bring cold, wet and windy weather to the whole of France.

A rainy, snowy Monday in the east at low altitudes

This Monday, a disturbance descending from the British Isles invades ¾ of the pace before evening. It brings rain and wind as well as a temporary warm spell in the west. In the east, the arrival of this disturbance brings snowfall from the Grand Est to Rhône-Alpes from 400 meters to 600 meters.

A less humid but wintry Tuesday

Tomorrow, it will snow from the Vosges to the Alps, with a risk of snow all the way to the plains in the morning. It will also snow in the Pyrenees, from 1000 meters. Elsewhere, the weather will be less humid, but cold. In the west, the weather is expected to be calmer and drier. In the Mediterranean, mistral and tramontane will blow strongly, especially in the morning with stormy winds in Corsica.

A quiet Wednesday, but often gray

The pressures will rise. But at the end of autumn, high pressure will not be synonymous with sunshine. Clouds will be abundant, especially over a large northern half. Over a small southern third, clearings will be generous, especially near the Mediterranean. But in the evening and night from Wednesday to Thursday, a rainy disturbance will quickly spread throughout the west, moving towards the central regions.

A Thursday under surveillance in the north with a risk of snow and gales

The disturbance that arrived the day before from the west will cross the entire country, up to the Mediterranean, accompanied by sustained rains and a temporary softening in the south. But north of the Seine, the presence of cold air could bring snow to the plains and a gale to the regions neighboring the Channel.

A cold Friday day with lots of showers

After the passage of rain the day before, unstable and cold weather with showers will settle in over almost the entire territory. It will snow in the mountains from 600 to 1000 meters depending on the massifs, especially in the Pyrenees, the Vosges, the Jura and the north of the Alps.
