Wintry conditions in the middle of April: Drivers are slipping on several motorways in Bavaria. There are several injured and one man dies.

A series of accidents on the snow-covered A95 happened yesterday A driver was killed in Bavaria and several people were seriously injured. Other vehicles drove into accident scenes that were still unsecured and crashed into the stationary cars of first responders.

After the accidents in the afternoon near the Murnau junction (Garmisch-Partenkirchen district), the motorway in the direction of Munich was closed late in the evening and a diversion was set up, as the Weilheim traffic police station announced. Six people were moderately injured and four were slightly injured. There was an estimated total damage of at least 200,000 euros to the nine cars involved and the highway infrastructure.

According to current investigations, a 54-year-old from the Ansbach district lost control of his vehicle on the slippery road at around 3 p.m., it was said. In the direction of Munich he crashed several times into the guardrail on the left and right of the road. The vehicle then stopped in the left lane. The driver died.

Car damaged – first responders not injured

Almost at the same time, a 46-year-old driver lost control of her vehicle at the same height, crashed into the guardrail and stopped on the shoulder on the right. The cars of a 74-year-old and a 55-year-old collided in the same place. These vehicles came to a stop in the right lane and the shoulder.

Several other road users then drove into the still unsecured accident sites, it was said. Vehicles used by accident helpers and some of the cars that had already been involved in an accident were damaged. Fortunately, the first responders who were on the road were not hit by the uncontrollably skidding vehicles, the police said.

At midday there had already been several accidents on the A94 in Upper Bavaria due to weather reasons. When sleet and rain suddenly occurred, several drivers drove off the road near Schwindegg and crashed into the guardrails, as the Mühldorf motorway police station announced. The road in the direction of Munich then had to be completely closed for around an hour. A little later, several cars left the road in the Winhöring area. No one was reported to have been injured in any of these accidents. The total damage was estimated at more than 100,000 euros.
