Video: Politics targeted – Shrove Monday in Düsseldorf

STORY: The Rose Monday parade in Düsseldorf is considered the most political in all of Germany. And the train in the state capital lived up to this reputation again this year. From the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, to the human rights situation and the protests in Iran, the discussion about cultural appropriation and Brexit. All major issues were targeted in Düsseldorf. And the important people from politics and society got their fat. After two years of the Corona compulsory break, the whole city said Helau again. The motto of the carnival procession this time was therefore: “We celebrate life.” Unlike in other cities, the motifs of the motto wagons are only shown here on Shrove Monday. So the surprise is all the greater. Hundreds of thousands of fools in the Rhine metropolis cheered on the side of the road and celebrated enthusiastically. And the traditional marching band and the sporty Funkemariechen could not be missing. A total of 122 cars take part in the train, 12 of them are themed cars.
