Thomas, 16, died on Saturday November 18 during a brawl with knives on the sidelines of a party in Crépol, in Drôme.
In the aftermath of the events, residents experienced “the worst feelings in the world”.

The traces of blood bear witness to the violence of the night. On the evening of Saturday, November 18, 350 people participated in a ball organized in the village hall of Crépol, a small village located in Drôme, north of Romans-sur-Isère. But around 2 a.m., everything degenerated with the arrival of around ten individuals. At the entrance to the room, the group refused to submit to the security guard’s control, reports the Valencia prosecutor. A fight breaks out, using bladed weapons.

The day after the events, the toll was heavy: one dead and 19 injured, including two serious. The victim, Thomas, is a 16-year-old young man who did not survive his injuries. “I saw big pools of blood, a bouncer who had his fingers and wrist cut off”tells TF1 Maxence, 18 years old (see video at the top of this article). “One of my colleagues was stabbed and I saw one of my friends receiving cardiac massage”he continues, very moved. “It’s the worst feeling in the world.”

On site, a psychological unit was opened. This Sunday, many residents went there to express their distress. “Getting killed, gratuitously, like that…”reacted a mother, who knew the victim. “Thomas was a lovely child. A child, that’s it.” “Going to party and losing a friend for free, for them, it’s inconceivable”adds another mother. “The young people are also angry, they were among themselves.”

For the moment, no arrests have taken place, the individuals having fled after the brawl. An investigation into homicide and attempted homicide by an organized gang has been opened. She was handed over to the police. Sunday evening, all avenues were still explored, including that of a settling of scores.
