Federal government against admission of 2000 migrants from Belarus

In the crisis on the border between Poland and Belarus – here pictures from the Grodno region – the German government has spoken out against accepting 2,000 migrants from Belarus. A corresponding proposal by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko is not acceptable for the Federal Republic and the European Union (EU), said a spokesman for the federal government in Berlin on Monday. Lukashenko had previously asked the EU to comment on his proposal. He had spoken of the fact that Germany should take in refugees. At the same time, Lukashenko emphasized that he did not want any escalation. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said he would continue to speak to the country’s allies to avert “the worst that could await” when he visited a guard on the Polish border with Belarus on Sunday. He thanked the Polish security forces here: O-Ton: “Despite very infamous, I would even say horrific, accusations of mistreatment of people who often find themselves on the other side through no fault of their own, I would like to thank you all for being efficient with one connect normal interaction with people. ” Representatives of the European Union accuse Lukashenko of flying in thousands of people from crisis regions such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria in response to EU sanctions and of forcing these migrants into the EU and NATO member states Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. The leadership in Minsk denies this. The Polish government, in turn, rejects allegations by human rights groups that international asylum law is being violated by forcing refugees back to Belarus instead of accepting their asylum applications. From Warsaw it is said that this procedure is legal.
