Video: Federal Environment Minister Lemke: “Water is of immense importance to all of us”

STORY: (NOTE: THIS ARTICLE IS WITHOUT VOICE TEXT) ENVIRONMENT MINISTER STEFFI LEMKE (GREENS) ON WEDNESDAY IN BERLIN ON THE NATIONAL WATER STRATEGY: “Water is of immense importance for all of us, for the population, for the economy as a transport route and of course also for nature and Environment And that is why it is right and proper that for the first time the entire Federal Cabinet has committed itself to a water strategy and thus wants to ensure that affordable, clean water will always come out of the tap for every citizen in the future. ” // “And for this we primarily want to maintain an intact ecosystem, i.e. old forests, intact soil that can absorb water, that can store water, floodplains that are renatured in order to be able to absorb more water, always as a precautionary measure wear, both before too much water and for too little water.” // “My call to save is aimed at everyone, that means also at the citizens in times of drought. To the best of my knowledge, this also happens frequently in the municipalities and is also well managed. I believe that there is little understanding, however, if you are no longer allowed to water your garden or at least not in the midday heat and that happens at the same time on the corn field next door. We have to find regulations for that in the future.”
