Consumed signal, the platform dedicated to the amicable settlement of disputes between consumers and businesses is now available on smartphones thanks to a dedicated free application. Objective, to facilitate consumer reporting and simplify their procedures.
The application, which offers the same functionalities as the website signal.conso.gouv.fr, is available on App Store and Play Store. It allows consumers to contact a professional more quickly with a problem (delivery, misleading promise, contract, etc.) and to find out about their rights, in just a few clicks.
Signal Conso, how does this service work?
When a report is filed by a consumer, it is recorded by the DGCCRF. If the company is correctly identified, the report is sent to the professional, asking him to respond and, if necessary, to find an amicable solution with his client or to correct the problem. At the same time, the platform informs the consumer of his rights and directs him to the appropriate interlocutor if necessary: ResponseConso (the center for processing calls and letters from the DGCCRF), a consumer association, the consumer mediator, justice, etc The DGCCRF then informs the consumer of the progress of his report: when the professional reads the report, if a reminder is made, etc.
500,000 reports since 2020
The DGCCRF’s internet platform has been used by more than 320,000 consumers and has recorded nearly 500,000 reports since its creation in 2020. Over the last 12 months, 195,000 reports have been filed, including:
- 75,000 for online purchases,
- 23,000 for in-store purchases,
- 18,000 for renovation work,
- 14,000 for travel and leisure.
The platform also allows DGCCRF agents to better target their investigations and controls, in particular by facilitating the identification of professionals who are the subject of many reports or emerging problems.
