Vaterstetten: Refugee falls from coach on A99 – Munich

A refugee from Morocco fell from a coach onto the A99 motorway near Vaterstetten in the Ebersberg district on Sunday. According to the police, the man and an acquaintance were hiding under the bus that was heading towards Stuttgart. A 48-year-old woman who was driving her car behind the coach around 1:45 p.m. noticed the man and immediately braked.

Several witnesses to the incident drove behind the bus and honked their horns. The driver of the coach eventually stopped in a construction zone on the shoulder, where witnesses alerted him to what had just happened. At that moment, a second man from Morocco crawled out from under the bus and ran across the shoulder to his friend.

The Moroccan, who fell on the road, sustained bruises and abrasions in the fall. His friend also had abrasions. Both men were taken to a hospital. According to their own statements, they are 26 years old. It was initially unclear how long they had traveled under the bus and how exactly they were holding on. But it must have been near the exhaust system, said a police spokesman. The two were covered in soot.

The road was completely closed for about an hour and a half. A traffic jam of around ten kilometers formed.
