Daniel Křetínský is one of the richest Europeans. Now the Czech is joining Thyssenkrupp’s steel division in the middle of the crisis. It is not his first investment in Germany. Critics accuse him of making money at the expense of the climate.
It was a sea of red people: thousands of employees protested in front of the Thyssenkrupp headquarters in Essen on Thursday afternoon. Many wore red IG Metall T-shirts, many held up red stop sign posters – stop to the plans of company boss Miguel López. The reason for the rally was the meeting of the supervisory board. The supervisory board of the M-Dax company was supposed to approve the entry of the Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský into the steel division at its meeting in the glass office tower.
