Vaccination against the coronavirus: vaccination certificate now also for those who have recovered

People who have recovered from a corona infection and who have also received a vaccination have so far had to do without a digital vaccination certificate. From tomorrow you can have the necessary documents issued in pharmacies.

Since mid-June, people who have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus have also been able to digitally prove their vaccination protection. Those who have recovered after an infection have so far been neglected with the digital vaccination certificate – but that should change from Friday.

Certificate available free of charge in pharmacies

Then those who have received a single vaccination after surviving an infection can prove the corresponding certificate via app. The QR code required for this is available in the pharmacy.

In order to pick up the code, the recovered citizens must present an identification document with a photo at the pharmacy, as well as the positive PCR test and proof of the one-time corona vaccination.

Nationwide about 3.7 million recovered

According to the chairman of the German Pharmacists’ Association, Thomas Dittrich, there are around 3.7 residents nationwide who are considered recovered after an infection and have since been vaccinated. “The vaccination certificate can help you to enjoy the summer and vacation time more easily,” says Dittrich.

In total, more than 20 million vaccination certificates have already been issued through pharmacies in Germany. Technical hurdles had prevented this in the case of proofs for those who had recovered so far.
