US prosecutors indict SBF on eight counts, which could carry up to 165 years in prison.

The indictment against Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), unveiled Dec. 13, signed by U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams, is 14 pages long and counts eight counts.

The charges set forth in the indictment are: conspiracy to defraud electronic communications with customers, fraudulent electronic communications with customers, conspiracy to defraud electronic communications with lenders, fraud. Through electronic communications to lenders, conspiracy to commit commodity fraud, conspiracy to commit securities fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud Committed money laundering to defraud the United States and violating campaign finance laws.

It also required the confiscation of “any and all property, real and personal. If this is not possible, the United States will “request to forfeit any other property of the defendant for the value of the property seized above.”

The indictment combines allegations related to the operations of FTX and Alameda Research with SBF political activities. Federal government, donations on behalf of others, and corporate donations prohibited under federal law.

The SBF was arrested in the Bahamas on Dec. 12 at the request of the US government. and the court did not grant bail.
