Unterschleißheim – City wants to tackle climate protection in a more structured way – District of Munich

The city of Unterschleißheim wants to better coordinate its climate protection measures. The loose municipal energy efficiency network that has existed since 2017 is therefore to be strengthened, and the first steps have also been defined from a list of possible measures. For example, an energy management system is to be established in the city administration. The project is already in the bidding process in order to take a closer look at the energy balance of municipal buildings. According to the town hall, the conversion of the street lighting is currently being prepared. The Stadtwerke are also planning photovoltaic systems for this year on the town hall and on the Arche children’s home, the Ganghofer school, the Hollern Nord kindergarten, the Nordschloss children’s home, the new BRK building and their own company headquarters. In addition, consideration is being given to continuing the energy efficiency network with Wolfratshausen, Puchheim, Olching and Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm as a state-funded climate protection network. In return, grants of 60 percent are in prospect for additional priorities such as updating an energy and CO₂ balance sheet. A charging station infrastructure concept would also be conceivable.
