The weather in Bavaria remains changeable and rainy – there is a risk of heavy thunderstorms, especially in southern Bavaria. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), heavy thunderstorms are expected to move in from the Alps during the course of the day on Thursday, bringing with them heavy rain and winds with the potential for severe weather. Rainfall of up to 60 litres per square metre in just a few hours and gusts of up to 70 kilometres per hour are possible.
In contrast, it is expected to remain mostly dry and often sunny in northern Bavaria. However, thunderstorms are expected here too during the night into Friday. According to the DWD, temperatures on Thursday will reach up to 15 degrees in the Upper Allgäu and up to 23 degrees on the Main and Danube. Friday is expected to bring a mix of clouds and rain with similar temperatures to the previous day. In addition, according to the weather experts, thunderstorms could occur again.
