Unterföhring – meetings again with compulsory presence – district of Munich

From next year there will be no more hybrid meetings in Unterföhring. A narrow majority of the municipal council in the municipality in the northern district of Munich has spoken out in favor of this. In the future, members of the municipal committee will therefore have to appear in person for each meeting and can no longer use the option of participating from home via a protected network via screen.

The decision was controversial. The parliamentary groups of the Greens, SPD and FDP representatives campaigned to maintain the two-track system, especially since the experiences of the past few months had been positive. Like many Bavarian municipalities, Unterföhring had introduced hybrid meetings in response to the corona pandemic. The Bavarian Ministry of the Interior leaves it up to the municipalities whether they want to keep this form or return to pure presence mode.
