the daily News places selected content under a free license. This means that these videos can be used in an uncomplicated and legally secure manner and can also be integrated into Wikipedia.
How do ETFs work? What are the tasks of the Federal Returning Officer? And what is the difference between gender and gender? Questions like these are answered by the daily News regularly in short, graphic explanatory pieces that are played out in the television programs and on the social channels.
If the author is named, these videos have been used unchanged for two years in the classroom, in presentations or on your own website. With the new one Creative Commons License CC BY SA is now even more possible: The videos can now also be edited and used in part – under certain conditions.

Terms of Use
A prerequisite for use is that changes to the material are documented and identified. New works that use this content in whole or in part must be shared under the same conditions, ie also under the free CC BY SA license. Integration with Wikipedia
The free license also allows the videos to be included in articles on Wikipedia. This makes them accessible to an even larger circle of users.
The first eight videos can already be found there and are used a lot, says Christian Humborg, CEO at Wikimedia Deutschland e. V.: “The high number of calls to the daily News-Clips in Wikipedia show: Well-produced knowledge content reaches a wide audience if it is freely licensed. That the ARD making more content accessible and usable for everyone in the future is a major gain for access to knowledge and trust in information on the Internet.”
Free license strengthens public value
the daily News sees a further element in the free license in order to fulfill its public-law mandate and to contribute to the free formation of opinions and orientation in society.

The fact that we can now make this content legally accessible to people outside of our own offerings strengthens our contribution to social discourse.”
