Two children from the same daycare hospitalized after contamination with E. coli bacteria

Two children who attended the same nursery in Toulouse were hospitalized after bacterial contamination, the Capitol said on Tuesday, confirming information from France 3 Occitanie. The town hall does not indicate which bacteria it is, but another source close to the matter assures that the famous E. coli bacteria is involved.

The alert to the town hall was given on Friday November 10 by the regional health agency (ARS). The community immediately decided to inform all parents and to close the establishment from Monday, November 13, for “the time necessary to carry out the analyses”. The latter “excluded the food” of the pitchouns. However, the results of analyzes of germ samples taken from certain surfaces are not yet known at this stage.

The nursery is due to reopen on Wednesday

For around ten days, the nursery premises have been disinfected with the support of a team specializing in the prevention of healthcare-associated infections. The town hall announces its reopening this Wednesday, December 22 “with complete peace of mind”. However, a negative screening test was requested from the parents and the 18 agents of the structure to return to the walls.

The ARS plans to communicate the details of this file during the day.
