The Nanterre prosecution requested a trial before the Hauts-de-Seine Assize Court of the ex-wife of serial killer Michel Fourniret, Monique Olivier, for complicity in the kidnapping of Estelle Mouzin in 2003, and in the kidnapping and murder of Marie-Angèle Domèce in 1988 and Joanna Parrish in 1990, the prosecution said on Wednesday, requested by AFP.
Since the death of Michel Fourniret in 2021, Monique Olivier is the only person implicated in these three files. It is now up to the examining magistrate Sabine Kheris to decide whether or not to hold a trial. If it took place, this trial would be the first of the “cold cases” center dedicated to unsolved cases and could be held next November.
Already sentenced to life imprisonment
Monique Olivier is indicted in two judicial inquiries: one for “complicity in kidnapping and sequestration followed by the death of Estelle Mouzin”, the other for “complicity in kidnapping and sequestration, on the one hand, and of murder, preceded, followed or accompanied by rape on the other hand on Joanna Parrish and Marie-Angèle Domèce”, specified the prosecution, which requests that these two cases be tried at the same time.
Monique Olivier, 74, has already been sentenced to life imprisonment for complicity in four murders and gang rape committed by Michel Fourniret. Then she was sentenced to 20 years in prison for complicity in a fifth murder, heinous this time, also committed by the killer. She had settled in 1987 with Michel Fourniret when he was released from prison. They had a son together before divorcing in 2010.
Olivier had contradicted Fourniret’s alibi
Michel Fourniret had for his part been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murders of seven young women or adolescent girls between 1987 and 2001. Indicted in particular in the Mouzin, Parrish and Domèce files, he died on May 10, 2021 in hospital. Parisian Pitié-Salpêtrière.
Before her death, Monique Olivier had begun to deliver information to justice. She had given investigators a first list of victims in June 2004, then contradicted the serial killer’s alibi on the day of Estelle Mouzin’s disappearance in November 2019. A few months later, Michel Fourniret confessed to Judge Kheris his responsibility .
Then, in April 2021, Monique Olivier had recognized the first time a role in the kidnapping of Estelle, specifying to have accompanied Michel Fourniret near the wood of Issancourt-et-Rumel, in the Ardennes, to bury the body of the girl. The bodies of Estelle Mouzin and Marie-Angèle Domèce have never been found, despite several excavation campaigns.
