Three people have been found dead on a street in Nottingham, England. The background is still unclear. The police suspect a possible connection between the crimes and arrested a suspect.
According to local police, emergency services were called to Ilkeston Road around 4am local time where two people were found dead. Another dead person was discovered on Magdala Road, which is about three kilometers from Ilkeston Road.
Two students among the victims
An eyewitness told the BBC that he heard cries for help and saw out the window a young man and woman stabbed in black by a person. So far there has been no official confirmation of what happened. The two victims are a student and a student, as the University of Nottingham announced on Twitter.
Before the third body was found, emergency services were also called to Milton Street. A delivery truck hit three people there, it said. All three are currently being treated in a hospital. One of the victims is in critical condition, the other two suffered minor injuries. According to City Council Chairman David Mellen, the casualties were accidental. They were waiting at a bus stop early in the morning, Mellen told the BBC.
Investigation into suspected murder

Sunak expresses condolences to relatives
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak wrote on Twitter that he would be informed about the events in Nottingham. His thoughts are with the injured and the families of those who lost their lives.
Interior Minister Suella Braverman made a similar statement. Labor MP Alex Norris also spoke on Twitter of “disgusting” news this morning. He thanked the rescue and police forces for their efforts.
Three members of the British Parliament from Nottingham also reacted in a joint statement. They expressed their shock on Twitter. Nadia Whittome, Lilian Greenwood and Alex Norris stressed that Nottingham is a “beautiful city” and home to “brilliant people from all backgrounds”.
Vigil in the city center
A vigil is planned for the late afternoon in the city center. “Nottingham is a city where people get along well, where they live in harmony and where they work together,” said City Council Chairman Mellen. “It is truly appalling that this shocking incident has disrupted that harmony and whatever the motivations, we would like to confront them.”
Nottingham University has canceled its prom in response to the attacks and the deaths of two students. “We are devastated and shocked by the tragic events that took place in the city center last night,” the University of Nottingham Students’ Union said in a statement. We stand together in solidarity with all students and the entire city and our thoughts are with the victims and their families.
