Three blows and a Söder – Munich

If Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) hadn’t appeared completely surprisingly to the cheers of the audience, economics officer and Wiesn boss Clemens Baumgärtner (also CSU) could have tapped the first barrel in the Festhalle Bayernland on Friday, 4 p.m. sharp. But then Söder came – and the electricity went out. “No wonder”, said the Prime Minister with a grin, “Isar 2 is switched off!”

Fortunately, there are still renewables, and a campaigner like Söder is never at a loss for fluffy arguments. So Baumgärtner got his turn at 4:08 p.m., cheered on by Söder himself: “Are you in the mood for a party? We look forward to celebrating with freedom, and not with compulsion and prohibitions!” But Söder was not completely satisfied with the tapping performance of the black economics officer: “Well, it was three hits and a little wet.”

In bright sunshine there had previously been free beer on the square in front of the old congress hall – the breweries involved in the spring festival had donated a few kegs. Then the festively decorated brewery teams went down to the Theresienwiese. The Spring Festival lasts until May 7th.
