After the setback conceded this Saturday evening against Reims (2-0), John Textor published a press release in which he asked supporters to continue to support them.

Lyon continues to sink. After another defeat this Saturday evening in Reims (2-0), OL remains stuck in last place in the standings. The effects of the recent arrival of Fabio Grosso at the head of the team have not yet been felt and the team must react (very) quickly. This Sunday, the president of the Lyon club published a press release.

Football is football and it’s cruel sometimes. Unfortunately, although the coach and the team worked intensively throughout the week, we lost our match today“, first explained the American businessman. Before adding: “I know how difficult it is for the fans to continue to provide support, but I have no choice but to ask you to continue to do so – to provide positive encouragement to a fragile team, even in difficult circumstances. It is up to our team to play better, but anger and pressure from fans will definitely not produce better results. This team needs your encouragement, probably more than ever“.

“Some players react well while others…”

Still in the press release, John Textor expressed his confidence in the new Italian coach. And assures not “never allow this club to lose its prestige“. The strong man from Lyon also points out certain behaviors. “Fabio does a solid job. He learns more about his players every day. Some players respond well to the work, while others clearly don’t. Unfortunately, when Fabio tests certain players in this situation, he doesn’t always learn positive things, but he will make adjustments accordingly“.

Our goal remains to find success again this season. I believe in Fabio’s work, and I believe in his team philosophy – he will find the players who meet these expectations, and we will climb the rankings», continues the latter. A reaction is expected on October 8 against Lorient. Monday morning, OL will wake up as bottom of Ligue 1.
