Thirteen years in prison required for homeless man accused of raping Océane at knifepoint

Since this Thursday, Yéro Ba, a 58-year-old disabled man of Mauritanian origin and of no fixed address, has been on trial before the Gironde departmental criminal court. He is accused of having raped Océane, 23, at knifepoint, on July 29, 2021, in the Victoire underground car park, in Bordeaux.

The Attorney General requested this Thursday afternoon thirteen years of criminal imprisonment against the accused, whose record includes 24 mentions (in particular for violence, outrages and death threats) and a definitive ban from French territory. He requested that the sentence be accompanied by socio-judicial monitoring and a ban on possessing a weapon for fifteen years.

“I didn’t touch her, Océane”

“I didn’t touch him, Océane” explaining that the young woman had consented to sexual intercourse that evening, until she discovered his leg atrophied by the poliomyelitis he contracted at the age 5 years old. He would then have accepted his change of mind. “I didn’t touch her, Océane,” he said on the stand Thursday.

The young woman reported a completely different version. The fifty-year-old, this evening in 2021, lured her into the parking lot under the pretext of dealing with past trauma thanks to his witchcraft gifts. An area that Océane, a former anthropology student, considers to be a field of study. She will not be suspicious of this man in a wheelchair, who seemed harmless to her at the time.

After trapping her between a wall and a car in the basement, Yéro Ba however forced her to perform cunnilingus at knifepoint and it was a motorist who put an end to the scene. The verdict is expected this Friday.
