A new lockdown has just begun in Saxony, and much stricter measures apply in Bavaria than before. It is to be feared that in the coming weeks other federal states and in the end possibly the whole republic will go into a lockdown, while in Portugal and Spain people enjoy the new old freedom of movement. The reason for this is often told: Germany’s population has too little to counter the virus, the vaccination rate is simply too low. There are various reasons why people have not yet been vaccinated. Opposition to vaccination, vaccination skepticism and a general fear of vaccination should explain the majority. But many people also say they couldn’t get vaccinated for health reasons.
