After a winter break of several months due to the generally restricted cultural activities, the Theaterverein Markt Schwaben is now announcing events for spring again. First of all, there are a total of five dates that theater and music lovers can attend.
A concert by the folk group will start on Saturday, March 26th Matching Ties on the occasion of “St. Patrick’s Day”, which is always celebrated in a big and extravagant way in Ireland on March 17th. The diverse musicians present authentic classics from Irish folk music with traditional instrumentation such as mandolin, violin and flute. In addition to their musical ability, the “Matching Ties” (that’s the translation of the band’s name) are also thrilling entertainers and bring a touch of the big Irish festivals to the Markt Schwabener Theaterhalle.
For April, the association is working on a theater production from its own ranks for the first time in a long time: They have chosen the play “Der Vorname” by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière, a masterpiece of classical chamber plays, not least known for the German film adaptation with Christoph Maria Autumn. The ensemble of the theater association is already looking forward to the widely acclaimed French hit comedy with plenty of biting and black humor. Director Sabine Bogenrieder – known from the boys stage and the playing in the pond – responsible. She is now a constant in the artistic work of the association, which is known not least for meticulous rehearsals, which is particularly necessary for a play with only five actors. “Der Vorname” is to be played on 1., 2., 8. and April 9, each time at 8 p.m.
With a view to Corona, the association can fall back on a hygiene concept that has proven itself over the past year and a half. “Last year and even the year before last we set up and tested the necessary entry controls and distance markings, and of course there are also options for disinfecting your hands,” says Thomas Steinbrunner, who is responsible for public relations in the association.
