Awarded since 1946 for France and 1975 for the world, the Champion of Champions trophy rewards the sportsman who marked the year, according to the journalists of the L’Equipe group. The classification is established after a secret ballot vote. From a list of nominees closed on November 29, each draws up their list of the five most remarkable athletes. The first place is worth 6 points, the second, 4, the third, 3, the fourth, 2 and the fifth, 1. Since 2012, the trophy is no longer mixed and distinguishes, for France and for the world, a winner.
