The 22-year-old man suspected of being the “scooter rapist” who raged in Grenoble admitted “a single act of rape, for which he is confused by his DNA”, prosecutor Eric Vaillant said on Monday during a ‘a press conference.
The suspect was placed in pre-trial detention on Sunday evening after being indicted for two rapes, attempted rape, attempted sexual assault, two aggravated acts of violence and attempted aggravated extortion. He faces fifteen years in prison, 20 years if the “serial nature” of the rapes is recognized, the magistrate said.
