After winning the so-called student Oscar in gold two months ago, Munich director Nils Keller can now also hope for an Oscar in the “Live Action Short Film” category. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has just announced the shortlists with potential candidates for the Oscars on March 12, 2023 in Los Angeles, and Keller’s graduation film at the HFF Munich, “Almost Home”, made it onto the list of the last 15 in in the short film category. It will become clear at the end of January whether the story of a mother-son conflict in space will actually be nominated: Then the screening will continue, and then the Academy will announce the Oscar nominations.
