The rail strike should be called off. – Opinion

It sounds like the plot of a royal drama: Claus Weselsky stands up on Monday and announces the next rail strike. He appeals for understanding with the argument that the mediators in the collective bargaining dispute are simply not suggesting enough to his train drivers’ union (GDL). Then the mediators’ previously secret proposal becomes known – and when asked, the GDL boss admits that he had publicly misrepresented the paper. It is a lesson about power and arbitrariness, as a result of which Weselsky had to call off the strike.
