Lionel Messi dominates the start of the Major League Soccer season. The world footballer scored twice in Miami’s 4-1 win against New England. On average, he is involved in more than two goals per game.
World footballer Lionel Messi is leaving his mark on Major League Soccer. At 4:1 (1:1) by Inter Miami at New England Revolution, the Argentine scored a brace (32nd, 68th minute) and prepared the two late goals by Benjamin Cremaschi (83rd) and Luis Suárez (89th).
The 36-year-old Messi was involved in at least two Miami goals in five games in a row and a total of 16 goals in his seven appearances this season so far. According to his club, both are the best values in league history.
Inter Miami, which clearly missed the playoffs last year when Messi, but also Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba only moved to the USA during the season, is at the top of the Eastern Conference with 21 points from eleven games. 65,612 fans came to the game at New England, giving the hosts in Foxborough a record attendance.
