The language institute Lingbee has to close – because the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees complained about mistakes in the administration. How can that be when at the same time the need for such funding institutions is growing?

In the entrance area of a language school in Neuhaus, at the beginning of March, there is a group of Ukrainians around headmistress Tereza Meliksetova. “I have an appointment at the job center tomorrow, what should I tell them?” asks a woman in Russian. Tereza Meliksetova strokes her forehead with both hands and says: “I’ll issue you a document.” What will it say? That the Ukrainian attended an integration course here, at the Lingbee language institute. What will probably not be there: The course was not officially valid.
