She was to be judged in early 2024 by the Finistère Assize Court. But this expected trial will never take place. The mother suspected of double infanticide in Relecq-Kerhuon, near Brest, ended her life in the middle of last week in the Brest remand center where she had been incarcerated for a little over two years, reports West France.
This 37-year-old woman was indicted for murder after the death of her two little girls aged 4 and 6, in July 2021, in the family apartment. The investigation concluded that it was a criminal death by drowning after ingesting medication.
The mother had admitted to her act with premeditation, motivated by a marital breakdown. Just after the incident, she had already attempted suicide.
