The investigation points to “malicious use of social networks”

The administrative investigation is not closed and will be extended by one week. But the first results of the “flash mission” requested by Nicole Belloubet after the attack in early April on Samara in front of her college in Montpellier were handed over to the Minister of National Education on Friday. According to the report, “malicious and extensive use of social networks, particularly through “Fisha” accounts, appears to be at the origin of the attack.” “These accounts allow the dissemination of humiliating photo montages and diverted videos causing a climate of aggression between students. The comments in question appear to be marked by a sexist and sexual nature,” it is specified.

Launched two days after the attack on the 13-year-old girl on April 2, the administrative investigation aims in particular to determine whether any faults were committed by the establishment’s staff. “The mission conducted more than twenty interviews”, but “taking into account the school holiday period, the ongoing judicial investigation and the strong emotion among the teenager’s relatives and the educational community, the mission has not yet been able to interview all the witnesses, particularly the students,” explains the ministry in a press release.

The schoolgirl not yet heard

This mission “heard Samara’s mother at length but she has not yet been able to hear the victim herself,” it is specified. The young girl, seriously injured, was in a coma and came out the day after the attack. “Initial results show complex conflict situations and malicious use of networks, but must still be supplemented by the work of the mission which will continue next week,” writes the ministry.

According to the Montpellier public prosecutor’s office, the teenager had been the victim of insults on social networks. Three minors aged 14 and 15 who admitted to having hit the teenager were indicted for “attempted intentional homicide” and placed under judicial supervision.
