The four minors prosecuted for harassment acquitted on appeal

The court found that there was an absence of “causal link” between the words used and the suicide. The Nancy Court of Appeal this Monday acquitted the four students prosecuted for acts of “harassment leading to the suicide” of Lucas, a 13-year-old schoolboy, found dead in January in the Vosges.

“The four minors have been released,” announced the lawyers of two of them, Emmanuelle Larrière and Sébastien Bonnet. The Court, in its decision consulted by AFP, noted “the lack of demonstrated effect” of the contentious remarks made by the four defendants “on Lucas’ mental health”.
