The father who admitted to killing his 3-year-old son by strangling him was indicted

A father was indicted for “aggravated murder” on Wednesday after admitting to having killed his 3-year-old son in Publier, in Haute-Savoie, at the beginning of the week, said Annecy prosecutor Line Bonnet-Mathis. The man who admitted the facts to the investigators and then to the investigating judge was incarcerated following his presentation, said the public prosecutor.

He reportedly said he was “guided by a voice”

The firefighters who intervened after a call to help the child found the father Monday morning alongside his deceased son in a parking lot in Publier, a town of less than 7,000 inhabitants south of Lake Geneva.

The father was taking his son to school before the incident but allegedly stopped and strangled the child. He would have explained having been “guided by a voice” and would have notified the emergency services after his action, according to the regional daily The Dauphiné Libéré.
