It’s going to be hectic to entertaining again: The second season of “The Bear: King of the Kitchen” will be available on Disney + from August 16th.

With a little delay, the second season of the highly acclaimed drama series is finally celebrating in this country “The Bear: King of the Kitchen” made her debut. From August 16, the streaming provider Disney+ will be showing the second season, which is now two episodes longer with ten episodes. Once again, Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto, played by “Shameless” star Jeremy Allen White (32), has to prove herself in normal madness in a restaurant kitchen – and deal with various family dramas in addition to the pan and roaster. What’s new in season two?

Back in the chaos – that’s what it’s all about

After a turbulent start as the new chef at his late brother’s restaurant “The Bear,” everything is about to start anew in season two. But despite the unexpected windfall, the finances are not sufficient to renovate the restaurant in the heart of Chicago according to the wishes of Carmy and his sister Natalie (Abby Elliott, 36).

So they borrow half a million dollars from family friend Jimmy “Cicero” Kalinowski (Oliver Platt, 63), who links this cash injection to a tough condition: If Carmy and Co. don’t manage to repay the sum within 18 months, so the restaurant becomes Cicero’s property. Whether the restaurant operators’ nerves, which are always on edge anyway, can withstand this extra pressure?

Between soft tones and loud roars

Season one already knew how to jump back and forth between soft, emotional tones and immense moments of stress, in which even the viewers in front of the screen were on the verge of a panic attack. The story also oscillated back and forth between heartbreaking and humorous moments. Anyone who also likes to watch the documentary “Chef’s Table” got to see similarly delicious “food porn” with “The Bear”, served here with an exciting background story.

This recipe for success will not be shaken in season two either – the new episodes serve up a lot of additional guest stars as an extra. Already in the first episodes there were some big names (sometimes for just a few moments), such as Jon Bernthal (46) as Carmy’s deceased brother or Joel McHale (51) as the nasty kitchen tyrant.

In the new episodes, the number of stars increases again: Jamie Lee Curtis (64), Bob Odenkirk (60), Sarah Paulson (48), Olivia Colman (49) and Will Poulter (30), to name just a few, press the handle of “The Bear” in the famous hand. For this alone, an explicit praise in the direction of the TV kitchen, which knows how to convince once again in terms of content. Conclusion: gladly again!
