For the second time in three days, a taxi driver in Munich was choked and robbed by a passenger while driving. The police were able to arrest a 44-year-old suspect.
The man got into a 74-year-old’s taxi on Tumblinger Strasse around 3 a.m. on Sunday. According to the police, the unknown person first directed the driver to Zuricher Straße to a house number that did not exist there, then further to Forstenrieder Allee. There he grabbed the 74-year-old by the neck and forced him to hand over several hundred euros in cash. The perpetrator fled into an adjacent green area.
A passerby called the police, who were able to catch a 44-year-old who had the money with him. Just on Thursday evening, a couple robbed a taxi driver in Ramersdorf in a similar way.
