The ARS records the signals of a “possible resumption of the epidemic”

The circulation of Covid-19 on the rise and above all a “sharp increase” in the Delta variant, sign a “possible resumption of the epidemic” in Paca, alert this Tuesday evening the Regional Health Agency (ARS).

In its daily update, the organization notes that, from June 28 to July 4, “viral circulation no longer decreases but increases, particularly in the 20-29 age group”. At the same time, the “proportion of variants of the L452R mutation is sharply increasing and stands at 64%”. Positivity is also on the rise and the incidence rate, at 13 cases per 100,000 inhabitants the previous week, has now reached 24.

Particularly in Marseille and Antibes

The incidence is increasing particularly in the 12th and 16th arrondissements of Marseille (51) but also in the Alpes-Maritimes (31), and in particular around Antibes, in the urban community of Sophia-Antipolis (43).

These developments, despite the hospital tension which continues to decrease, constitute, according to the ARS, “a signal of a possible resumption of the epidemic” in Paca.
