A new state in the middle of Europe, with an anthem, flag and constitution: With the start of the Vienna Festival Weeks this Friday evening, this will become reality. Intendant Milo Rau gives the first edition of the festival under his direction a very unique setting – and declares the venues in the Austrian capital to be a “Free Republic Vienna“.
