The teenager arrested on Saturday “confessed” to be the author of the murder of his two parents, whose bodies were found charred in the rubble of their family home in Châteauvilain (Isère), announced the Grenoble prosecutor’s office on Sunday December 3.
“I confirm that young Valentin confessed to the police to being the author of the murder of his parents”indicated Grenoble prosecutor Eric Vaillant in a brief press release. “I won’t say any more at this stage.”added the prosecutor.
The two bodies discovered on November 26 could not be formally identified, but the autopsy established that these two bodies were “probably those of a man and a woman, each presenting gunshot wounds to the skull and, for one, to the thorax”, according to the Bourgoin-Jallieu prosecutor. The burned house was usually home to three people: a 58-year-old engineer, a 52-year-old woman who worked from home, and their 15-year-old son.
The prosecution had opened a judicial investigation for assassinations and destruction by fire after the discovery of the two bodies. The 15-year-old boy had disappeared before being arrested in Montpellier and placed in police custody.
