The 3 Vallées zoo must separate itself from its packs of wolves

There is no escape for the owner of the 3 Valleys zoo, in the Tarn, he must part with his wolves by transferring them “to other animal parks”. This obligation was notified to him on Tuesday by the prefect after an adversarial procedure during which the management of the zoo did not provide convincing information to prevent it from coming to this end.

The Tarn animal park has been closed to the public since December 22, three days after the escape of nine wolves, four of which had to be killed. An inspection also revealed recently, indicates the prefecture in a press release, “unacceptable disorders” in the accommodation conditions of the two packs and a danger for the residents of this vast park, located in Montredon-Labesssonnié.

Small reprieve for Cubs

European wolves must have left the zoo “within two weeks”. The Hudson wolves, on the other hand, have a respite until August 31 due to the presence of cubs in the dens.

Finally, concerning an elderly and blind Hudson wolf, the park is ordered to conduct a “behavioural study” within two weeks, specifying the terms of its care.
