Why did two 3-month-old little sisters die? Twins born in July 2022 died within hours of each other on Monday, December 19. The tragedy occurred in a village in the Médoc, in Lamarque, in Gironde.
That day, a relative of the twins calls for help. When the firefighters arrive, the girls are unconscious. One of the two babies dies on the spot. The second baby is urgently transferred to the Pellegrin hospital in Bordeaux. He dies a few hours later.
A 35-year-old woman, whom our colleagues from South West pose as a relative of the children, was taken into custody on Thursday morning. This police custody was extended Thursday evening for a period of 24 hours. She was alone with the twins at the time.
Did the two little girls suffer an accident? A voluntary gesture? Were they sick? No element yet allows us to put forward the slightest hypothesis. An investigation for intentional homicide is opened. The two small bodies were autopsied.
