Very few people will know that the town of Wasserburg, east of Munich, is similar to the Bab Touma district, a district of Damascus whose population is predominantly Christian. When I was in Wasserburg for the first time, I almost felt like I had been transported there. Until a pack of motorcycles whizzed through the streets, their drivers raising two fingers in a V. “V” for Victory? Like victory?
