Street festival and open monument day – district of Munich

Even if the weather at the weekend was suboptimal and it sometimes poured heavily, a number of events with numerous visitors took place in the district of Munich. At the Ottostrasse Festival in Ottobrunn, which was celebrated again after a two-year break, smaller guests were allowed to take a seat in the “Rio Grande” locomotive.

On the day of the open monument on Sunday, the focus was on the Roman estate aka “Villa rustica” west of the Aschheimer Aussiedlerhof. The villa is also known under the name “Römerbad” and is still preserved in the ground, only the main building of this country estate from the 1st to 4th century AD was excavated in parts and covered again. The history of the estate, its excavation and the considerations for a future suitable presentation were explained in the guided tours.

Weekend events: Grasbrunn: Day of the open monument in St. Aegidius, Keferloh, with local curator Gernot Rossmanith.
