The US comedian Tim Allen (68) wants to slip into his famous Santa Claus role for the fourth time. For Disney Plus, the actor will star and produce a series based on the popular “Santa Clause” franchise, the streaming service announced on Friday.
Allen first morphed into Santa Claus in 1994 as businessman Scott Calvin in “Santa Clause”. In 2002 and 2006 sequels to the Christmas gossip hit the cinemas.
In the planned series, Scott Calvin, now 65 years old, is faced with the task of finding a suitable successor so that he can devote himself more to his own family after his life at the North Pole. Disney Plus plans to start production in March. Most recently, Allen played the arch-conservative family man Mike Baxter in the sitcom “Last Man Standing”, who has to assert himself against his successful wife and three daughters.
