New details are coming to light in the case surrounding corruption allegations against AfD politician Bystron. According to “Spiegel”, participants in a meeting of the AfD federal executive board confirmed that he had admitted to having accepted packages from a pro-Russian businessman. They wouldn’t have included any money.

Bystron remains silent about the contents of the packages

After several media outlets reported on audio and video recordings that incriminated him, Bystron had to answer questions from the Federal Executive Board again on Monday. He had already been summoned once because of the matter. According to participants, he now admitted that he had accepted small packages. However, there was no money in the packages, said Bystron.

But he didn’t say what they contained instead. Most recently, several media outlets, citing a Czech member of parliament, reported that two audio recordings showed the AfD man rustling money and counting it.

When asked by “Spiegel”, Bystron did not deny his admission to the AfD board, but spoke of a media campaign against him. He suspects that the video and audio recordings have “already been made available to several people.” It is “expected that these will also be published”. Bystron confirms for the first time that he assumes that he was secretly filmed and tapped.
