The tension around the health pass is felt as far as Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. The Minister of the Sea, Annick Girardin, denounced Sunday evening an “attack” against the deputy Stéphane Claireaux (LREM) which occurred in front of his home in this overseas collectivity. The chosen one received, according to the minister, many projectiles in the face followed by stone throws.
The Minister of Overseas, Sébastien Lecornu, for his part announced Sunday evening on Twitter that the Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin and himself had “instructed the prefect of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon to ensure protection of the deputy ”.

In its press release, the Ministry of the Sea described the aggression as follows: “On the sidelines of a citizen demonstration against the health pass, several dozen demonstrators went to the home of deputy Stéphane Claireaux. In a spirit of dialogue, he went to his steps where he received many projectiles violently thrown in the face followed by throwing stones ”.
“By directly attacking an elected representative of the Republic, at his home and in front of his own family, these demonstrators crossed the red line,” commented Annick Girardin, quoted in the press release. “I give my full support to Stéphane Claireaux, my deputy [à l’Assemblée nationale], who is attacked at his home because he defends the health pass in a territory where 90% of the inhabitants are vaccinated ”, she assured.
Elected officials publish death threats received
Sébastien Lecornu, for his part, gave his “full support to the deputy”, whom he described as “an elected representative of the Republic lynched in front of his family home”. “No debate can justify this outburst,” he wrote. The President of the National Assembly, Richard Ferrand, for his part declared to have called Stéphane Claireaux: “I assured him of my personal support and of the solidarity of the National Assembly in the face of the intolerable aggression he has had. suffered at his home while he was offering the dialogue, ”he also wrote on Twitter.
Attacks and death threats have increased in recent weeks, mainly against members of the majority who approved this week, at first reading, the bill transforming the health pass into a vaccination pass. Several of them published on social networks the death threats they received and announced their intention to file a complaint.
