According to authorities, at least 50 people have died in floods caused by heavy rain in Afghanistan. The central Afghan province of Ghor is particularly affected. Many important roads into the region were interrupted, said a representative of the provincial government. In the provincial capital Feros-Koh alone, 2,000 houses were completely destroyed and 4,000 damaged. More than 2,000 shops are under water.
Just over a week ago, authorities said 315 people were killed and more than 1,600 injured in severe flooding in the north of the country.
