Smart Bison predicts a tough weekend on the road

To be able to taste your champagne and oysters, you will first have to pass the road test. Bison futé anticipates major disruptions in the direction of departures this Friday and Saturday, to mark the start of the Christmas holidays. The traffic information center sees red Friday and Saturday in the Paris region and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. The rest of the country is classified orange.

From Friday morning, the eve of New Year’s Eve, traffic will be difficult. In Île-de-France, road traffic will be busy “from late morning towards the various toll gates, particularly on the A6 and A10 motorways”. Bison futé advises leaving the Paris metropolitan area before 10 a.m. and emphasizes that “departures on vacation or weekends will be added to usual trips”, in particular journeys from work to home.

Very difficult traffic also on Saturday

The traffic information center also notes “significant slowdowns from and towards Lyon” and forecasts a “significant flow of vacationers” in the region. He recommends avoiding the A7 motorway, between Lyon and Orange, from 12 p.m. to midnight.

On Saturday, road traffic in the direction of departures promises to be very difficult. The Paris region remains classified red but the rest of the territory is orange, a sign of a slight improvement in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Bison futé advises leaving or crossing Île-de-France before 6 a.m., avoiding the A6 motorway, between Beaune and Lyon, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and avoiding the A7 motorway, between Lyon and Orange, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
