In the collective bargaining dispute over more money, the Marburger Bund wants to increase the pressure. For today, the doctors’ union in municipal clinics in six federal states has called for an all-day warning strike. An emergency supply is guaranteed.
Doctors at clinics in six federal states went on a day-long warning strike. The Marburger Bund professional association has called for the work stoppages and is expecting several thousand participants at a central rally in Munich, according to a spokeswoman. Strikes are to be held in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland.
“So far, our members don’t feel that employers have taken them seriously,” said Andreas Botzlar, chairman of the Marburger Bund federal association. “The impression is that employers want to delay collective bargaining.”
Emergency service agreements for clinics
According to the professional association, emergency treatment of patients is guaranteed in the affected clinics. The clinics were therefore offered emergency service agreements. A spokesman for the North Rhine-Westphalia state association said that some of the dates and examinations that could be planned would have to be postponed. Around 50 clinics in the federal state have been called on to go on warning strikes. In Bavaria, the municipal hospitals and individual Munich clinics of the Helios Group are affected by the warning strike.
The Marburger Bund is demanding a 2.5 percent increase in salaries from employers for the approximately 55,000 doctors at the municipal clinics. In addition, with effect from January 1, 2023, there should be a compensation for the price increases that have accumulated since the last fee increase in October 2021.
