“Silent Hill”: Several new horror games in the works

Japanese game company Konami is working on several new “Silent Hill” games. The cult horror game series will be continued with “Silent Hill F” and “Silent Hill Townfall”, among others, Konami announced on Wednesday. A new edition of “Silent Hill 2” is also in the works.

It should be a remake, i.e. a game developed from scratch. It is being developed by the Polish studio Bloober Team, which has experience in the horror field with the “Layers of Fear” series, “Blair Witch” and “The Medium” among others. 12 months after the release – the date has not yet been set – the remake of “Silent Hill 2” will appear exclusively on PC and PS5. A last-gen version has not been announced.

In addition, “Townfall” and “Silent Hill F” are two completely new games in the “Silent Hill” universe. Townfall is produced by Scottish indie studio No Code, best known for their sci-fi thriller Observation. Annapurna Interactive is the publisher, but little is known about the game content.

This also applies to the mysterious “Silent Hill F”, which will take place in Japan in the 1960s. It is being developed by Hong Kong-based Neoboards Entertainment, which has previously worked primarily with Capcom on projects such as Resident Evil: Resistance and Resident Evil Re:Verse.

In addition to the video games, film content will also be created around the “Silent Hill” series, Konami announced. This includes a film by Christophe Gans, who brought “Silent Hill” to the big screen in 2006. His new film is set to revolve around the events of “Silent Hill 2”.

Finally, “Silent Hill Ascension” creates an “interactive streaming experience” that can be watched/played together with friends. Apparently it’s about making decisions in certain situations in the film that determine the further course. Netflix has experimented with similar formats, for example, with “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch”.
