His hazardous conduct left little doubt as to his state of intoxication. It was a little after 2 p.m. on Wednesday when residents of the Purpan district of Toulouse witnessed the difficult start of a 30-year-old mother, coming out of a drunken meal with friends.
What mainly made them decide to intervene was the presence of a child in the car. They did everything to dissuade the driver from continuing her journey, even trying to deflate her tires according to a police source.
The boy placed in a home
And although the witnesses were unable to reason with her, they still managed to bring the 10-year-old boy down and keep him under their wing while they alerted the police.
The mother was stopped by the police on the road to her home. She initially refused the breathalyzer and when she did, she didn’t have the strength to breathe.
The thirty-year-old, unknown until now to the police, was released from police custody Thursday evening with a summons to appear in court. His son was entrusted to Child Welfare (ASE) on Wednesday by a judge. He will remain in a home while awaiting the conclusions of a social investigation.
